The humble roach is one of the most important prey species for many freshwater predator fish around the world. We have studied the behaviour, characteristics and movements of this species in detail to create a series of lures designed to provoke aggressive strikes from hungry predators. The Savage Gear 3D Roach series is based on a 3D scan of a real roach, delivering incredible detail, realism and lifelike swimming action.
Quite simply, this is the pinnacle of roach imitation, looking and swimming just like the real thing. Our famous Line Thru system has been further developed, allowing the hooks to swing freely outside the body at its broadest point for improved hook-ups and landing rates. The new spinning rig, featuring double trebles, has been proven to provide the best overall hook-up ratio while remaining perfectly in place during casting and trolling. The lure’s high body profile creates an amazing S-curve swimming action, cutting and gliding to the side on the spin-stop, a movement that drives pike crazy.
The slow-sink version features a Line Thru channel through the mouth and sinks very slowly, making it ideal for twitching and pulling to create impressive gliding movements. The moderate-sink version runs deeper with a wide S-curve action, displacing plenty of water to attract the attention of big predators.
